Geography - Climate
Located within the Piedmont province in north central North Carolina, Person County lies on rolling land that lends itself naturally to beauty. Elevation above sea level ranges from a high of 800 feet in several locations to a low of about 320 feet. The general slope of the land faces northeastward, the dividing ridge beginning in the extreme southwestern corner extending northeastward to Roxboro, and then eastward to the Granville County line.

Person County headwaters the Neuse, Roanoke and the Tar-Pamlico River Basins.The mean annual temperature is 56.9 degrees F and the annual rainfall is 46.63 inches.

The county is bordered to the north by the State of Virginia, to the east by Granville County, to the south by Durham and Orange Counties, and to the west by Caswell County.Roxboro is the county seat and the only incorporated area in Person County. The City of Roxboro is located thirty (30) miles north of Durham and fifty-five (55) miles northeast of Raleigh.· North Carolina has two modern, deep water ports located in Wilmington and Morehead City.

Two major airports are within 45-60- minutes driving time from Person County, Raleigh-Durham International to the south on I-40 and to the west, Piedmont Triad International on I-85.
Person County Airport is a modern facility located just south of Roxboro.
