Local Resources

Our local business ecosystem is top tier due to the partnerships with community organizations and institutions such as Piedmont Community College Small Business Center, Piedmont Community College's Customized Training Program, The Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce, and Uptown Roxboro Group.  Our local resources include financing assistance, guidance and mentorship, networking and community engagement, and incentives. 

For entrepreneurs and small businesses, Piedmont Community College Small Business Center provides one-on-one business counseling, programs and classes, and connects business owners to financial resources. The Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Person County businesses through marketing, networking, and community events. The Uptown Roxboro Group works to promote Uptown Roxboro and support business located in the Uptown Development District through grant funding, marketing, networking, and community events. 

For larger companies and industries, Piedmont Community College's Customized Training Program adds value to existing companies by offering low or no cost training, assessments, and pre-employment training.  

Regional and State Resources

Person County is geographically situated to utilize regional resources from the Kerr Tar Regional Council of Governments, the Research Triangle Regional Partnership, and the NC Carolina Core.  These regional partners possess resources for entrepreneurs, small business, and large companies that help supplement the local resources available in Person County.  

At the state level, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) and the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) are Person County's primary partners.  EDPNC is the economic development arm of the State of North Carolina that works diligently to recruit new business and investment, retain existing industry, support tourism and film, and assist small business success.  SBTDC is a business advisory resource for small to medium sized businesses.  Operating through a formal partnership with U.S. Small Business Administration and operating from offices located on campuses of The University of North Carolina System, the SBTDC is a tremendous resource.
